IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders Lowest Score in IPL
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are a popular team in the IPL, having won the tournament in 2012 and 2014. They have a strong fan base. Gautam Gambhir led the team to victory during those years. For IPL 2024, Gambhir is returning to KKR, but this time as a Mentor, to support the team in a new role.
KKR will start their IPL 2024 journey on March 23rd, playing against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens. KKR is known for its consistent performance, making it to the playoffs almost every alternate season. They were also the runners-up in the 2022 IPL.

However, in recent seasons, KKR has faced a decline in success, failing to reach the playoffs in the last two attempts. Regarding their scoring, KKR has been bowled out for less than 100 runs only three times. We will soon explore KKR’s lowest scores in the IPL in a listicle.
KKR vs MI IPL 2008: 67/10
During an IPL match on May 16, 2008, at the Wankhede Stadium, the Kolkata Knight Riders scored their lowest total against the Mumbai Indians. They were bowled out for just 67 runs in 15.2 overs.
Shaun Pollock was the key bowler for the Mumbai Indians, taking 3 wickets for 12 runs. The Mumbai Indians quickly chased down their target, scoring 68 runs in 5.3 overs, with only 2 wickets lost, thanks to Sanath Jayasuriya’s explosive 48 not out from 17 deliveries.

KKR vs RCB IPL 2020: 84/8
On October 21, 2020, in Abu Dhabi, the Kolkata Knight Riders played against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Knight Riders faced difficulties, losing players frequently and finishing their innings with a low score of 84/8.
Mohammed Siraj from the Challengers bowled exceptionally well, taking 3 wickets for only 8 runs. The Challengers easily achieved their target, scoring 85/2 in just 13.3 overs to win the match.
KKR vs MI IPL 2009: 95/10
In the 2009 IPL match in Gqeberha on April 27th, the Kolkata Knight Riders faced the Mumbai Indians. The Knight Riders scored a low total of 95 runs while chasing the Mumbai Indians’ challenging score of 187 runs, with notable half-centuries from Sanath Jayasuriya and captain Sachin Tendulkar.
In their pursuit of victory, KKR’s batting lineup struggled and got all out for 95 runs in just 15.2 overs. Mumbai Indians won convincingly by 92 runs, with Abhishek Nayar and Lasith Malinga taking three wickets each.
KKR vs DC IPL 2009: 101/10
During the match on April 19, 2009, in Cape Town, the Kolkata Knight Riders struggled against the Deccan Chargers. They could only manage 101 runs before getting all out in 19.4 overs. Brad Hodge was the standout player for KKR, scoring 31 runs from 34 balls.
RP Singh performed exceptionally well for the Chargers, taking 4 wickets while conceding just 22 runs in 3.4 overs. The Chargers efficiently chased down their target in 13.1 overs, with only two wickets lost, thanks to Herschelle Gibbs’ unbeaten 43 runs from 26 balls.

Facing this challenge, the Kolkata Knight Riders were all out for 105 runs in 18.2 overs, resulting in a 65-run defeat. Harbhajan Singh was notable for the Mumbai Indians, taking 3 wickets for 27 runs, with support from Pragyan Ojha and Mitchell Johnson, who each claimed 2 wickets.
KKR vs MI IPL 2017: 107/10
In the IPL 2017 Qualifier, Kolkata Knight Riders played against Mumbai Indians at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 19th. Despite the pitch being good for batting, KKR was bowled out for only 107 runs in 18.5 overs.
Karn Sharma was outstanding for Mumbai Indians, taking 4 wickets and conceding only 16 runs in his 4-over spell. Mumbai Indians chased down the target in 14.3 overs, losing four wickets, securing their place in the IPL final for the fourth time.
KKR vs CSK IPL 2019: 108/9
In the match at Chepauk Stadium on April 9, 2019, the Kolkata Knight Riders scored a total of 108/9. Andre Russell played well, scoring 50 runs from 44 balls. Deepak Chahar performed brilliantly for the Chennai Super Kings, taking 3 wickets for 20 runs.
Chasing the target, Faf du Plessis scored steadily with 43 not out from 45 balls, leading CSK to 111/3 in 17.2 overs. They won the match by 7 wickets.
KKR vs MI IPL 2018: 108/10
In the match at Eden Gardens on May 9, 2018, the Mumbai Indians scored a strong total of 210/6, mainly due to Ishan Kishan’s quick 62 runs from 21 balls. Chasing this target, the Kolkata Knight Riders were all out for just 108 runs in 18.1 overs, resulting in a significant loss by 102 runs.
KKR vs CSK IPL 2010: 109/10
On March 16, 2010, at Eden Gardens, the Kolkata Knight Riders scored their tenth lowest total in IPL history during a match against the Chennai Super Kings. The Super Kings batted first and scored 164/3, with captain MS Dhoni leading the way with a quick 66 runs from 33 balls. The Knight Riders, batting second, could only manage 109 all out in 19.2 overs, losing the match by 55 runs.
