A professional T20 cricket team from Pakistan called Peshawar Zalmi competes in the Pakistan Super Competition PSL cricket league. They have participated in the competition since 2015 and won the PSL 3 championship. They play in Arbab Niaz Stadium, which serves as their home field, and they represent KPK Peshawar’s capital.
They have many players on the international and national levels. Additionally, a sizable number of ex-international cricket players make up their coaching and management teams. They are also Pakistan’s largest sports franchise, with a market value of about $40 million. Wahab Riaz is their current captain, while James Foster is their head coach.
Ownership History
Haier’s owner, Javed Afridi, paid US$16 million for the franchise to be his for a period of ten years. It was one of the PSL’s first franchises. Javed Afridi frequently contributes a sizeable sum to talent search initiatives, and the franchise holds regular tryouts.
Team Identity and Sponsors
In a ceremony conducted at APS Peshawar in December 2015, the team’s logo and uniform were unveiled. Cricket stumps and a traditional turban are combined in the design. PSL 4 2019 saw a modification to their uniform. The team’s primary hues are black and yellow. Youth is the meaning of the Pashto word Zalmi.

PSL 1st Edition | PSL 2016
Zalmi’s got off to a strong start in the first season, winning the first two games of the competition before dropping the next two. They won their final six games to get to the playoffs. They were eliminated after losing both of their games in that round.
They took the first spot in the standings with 12 points after winning 6 of their 8 group-stage games.

PSL 2nd Edition | PSL 2017
Before the start of the upcoming season, Peshawar made significant adjustments. They dealt Aamer Yamin to the Lahore Qalandars for Sohaib Maqsood. Ten players were kept, while many huge talents were added, including Eoin Morgan, Chris Jordan, and Shakib Al Hasan. Peshawar Zalmi, who maintained their lead in the points standings, earned a spot in the playoffs.
They won four of the eight games they played, with one game ending in a tie. They won over Karachi Kings in the eliminator match to advance to the finals, where they faced the Quetta Gladiators again and defeated them by a score of 58 runs to win the PSL trophy for the first time. They qualified for the play-offs and lost the first qualifier against Quetta before winning against Karachi Kings.

PSL 3rd Edition | PSL 2018
They were defeated by the new team Multan Sultans by 7 wickets in the opening game of this season. They defeated Islamabad United in their second game. Peshawar then earned a spot in the playoffs, where they faced Quetta and Karachi on their way to the championship game.
By winning five out of ten games, they finished third in the group stage’s points standings. They finished the competition as runners-up after losing to Islamabad United in the championship game.

Peshawar Zalmi’s season got off to a losing start when they were defeated by Quetta Gladiators by 6 wickets. They then succeeded in winning the majority of the games and advanced to the playoffs. They were among the tournament’s top teams in terms of strength.
They managed to win seven out of the ten group games, which helped them finish first in the points standings with 14 points. They were defeated by Quetta Gladiators in the qualifying match, but they defeated Islamabad United in the elimination round. They came in second place after losing to Quetta Gladiators in the championship game.

From the first four matches of the competition, they won the second and the fourth, but lost the first and third. They were once again a serious contender to take home the PSL trophy this year. They continued to qualify for the playoffs but were defeated in the opening playoff game.
Peshawar Zalmi managed to win four out of the ten group games as they placed fourth on the points table with 9 points. One game produced no outcome.

They lost to Islamabad United by 5 wickets in the first play-off game, which resulted in their elimination, and they placed fourth overall.
